Campus, Jesus, and baby lions!

Hey all!
To catch you up, I have been partnered with another girl from NGCSU. Her name is Sarah. Sarah and I have the opportunity to minister in the ladies res (dorm) called Benjemijn. The women in this res are known for being brainiacts (study girls). One of the campus outreach Johannesburg staff (Fifi) has been doing ministry in this res since January. SO there are key girls that Fifi wants us to really invest time in. These key girls are all first year (freshman). The COJ staff think that if they can build the majority of the ministry with first years then these students will have 4 years to advance the Kingdom.

So, this past week, Fifi introduced us to multiple girls. Our conversations this week have been very shallow-getting to know the girls and establishing relationships with the girls. We had our first evangelistic meeting on Thursday. Praise God we had 7 girls come to the meeting, all of them first years. Most of the girls left quickly after the mtg but we were able to walk back with 2 girls. The COJ staff (during orientation) had told us that many (most even) people claim Christianity and are comfortable with speaking about Christian things and coming to Christian events but there is no life (heart) transformation. So they would like us to try and filter the exposed from the truly interested and invest our time in the interested rather than the exposed.

That is the prayer for this week. Sarah and I are going to be starting a Bible study (tomorrow will be our first one) in res. We are hoping that this might be a way for us to have good spiritual follow up conversations with girl to see who is really interested. Sarah and I are also praying for opportunities to share our testimony with girls and at least one opportunity to share the gospel. We only have 4 weeks left and we need to make the best use of our time.
One a fun note, Saturday we went to a Lion and Rhino park. It was so awesome. We got to see so many animals and I got to pet a baby lion. I’ve got pictures to prove it. Then we went (as a team) to a restaurant called Carnivores. Carnivores is an all you can eat meat place. It had “normal’ meat such as chicken, beef, pork and lamb, but then it also had other game meat such as antelope, crocodile, impala, eland and wildabeast. I did not like the eland at all but loved the impala. And the crocodile really tasted like chicken.

So, if you could be praying for the first year students (unbelievers) that they would come to know the Lord. Pray that Sarah and I would make the best use of our time and intentionally have spiritual and gospel conversations.
Desiring to see God do great things,
Danielle

Hey Baby, All who know you are praying for you, Sarah and the rest of the team. My prayer and verse for you all is Colossians 4:2-6 Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with and attitude of Thanksgiving; praying at the same time for us as well, that GOD may open up for us a door for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ, for which I have also been imprisoned; in order that Imay make it clear in the way I ought to speak. Conduct yourselves with wisdom towards outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned as it were, with salt, so that you may know how you should respond to each person.
I (WE) all miss you and wait with anticipation to here what GOD does thru yall's willingness to be used by HIM.
I miss you most,Daddy
